About Capital City Food Tours

Capital City Food tours was established in 2016 when Brittany Hammer moved back home and developed a new love for Madison cuisine and culture. In the past decade the food scene in Madison has exploded offering an immense variety of restaurants with local chefs and brewmasters at the helm. Food has the ability to define a city, it is a new and telling experience everywhere you go, and Madison is no exception.

On our food tours, we believe in four things: staying loyal to local establishments and Madison culture, sharing our knowledge of the city’s sensational history and architecture, providing genuine Midwestern hospitality, and eating darn good food on every single tour.

Meet the Founder

Brittany Hammer

While studying Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management at the University of Wisconsin Stout, Brittany spent time in Argentina studying their food, culture and wine which sparked her interest in different cuisines. After graduating she worked to find her dream job that incorporated her love for sharing food with others. Brittany has developed a great respect for the culinary world and the influence that food has on people. In her spare time she loves baking, drinking wine, and doing yoga.
